Prenatal Genetic Testing #

“The organisation Compatible With Love has collected multiple stories from mothers who were given positive results for Trisomy 18 but delivered unaffected babies. Parents magazine reported on an analysis done by The New York Times showing that 85% of NIPTs were inaccurate. Another case involved a suspected Turner syndrome diagnosis, later proven false, with the child born without abnormalities. FaithPot documented a family who were told their baby had spina bifida, yet the child was delivered healthy.”

MTHFR #

“Due to the large, varied and often conflicting data reported on MTHFR, these polymorphisms have been weakly associated with multiple conditions, including autism, schizophrenia, cardiac disease, fetal neural tube defects, poor pregnancy outcomes and colorectal cancer.”

Genetic Engineering #

“The alleged genetic engineering should therefore be rejected not only because of its risks, but fundamentally because it is based on an assumption that is not scientifically proven – and whose main purpose is to open up a global market for patented plants, animals, microbes and ultimately also humans.”

Inheritance / Heredity #

The direct observations that kids look like their parents is real. That doesn’t mean the cause of that observation is chemicals.

Observations (or descriptions) are different than explanations. We can observe things and propose explanations but that doesn’t make them true.

I would also argue that sometimes people say pets and their owners look alike, or that couples start to look and act alike. No one would argue those observations are because of genes.
